Buttons Cloth Diaper Review

Buttons Diapers is a newer cloth diaper company taking the community by storm.  They are a family business based in Northwest Washington.  I was sent a Buttons diaper in Banana Cream (yellow) to review for you!

A color comparison of the Button diaper in YELLOW and a Thristies Duo cover in Honeydew.

Buttons diapers are an AI2 system cloth diaper.  The one-size diaper cover fits babies approximately 9-35 pounds and has a three step snap rise.  The adjustable waist features one row of snaps with crossover tabs, and elastic in the front and back of the diaper.  The legs have double gussets to help keep in super messes.

My diaper came with a large (fits babies 20-35 pounds) snap in daytime insert, and a snap in overnight insert.  The night time insert is all microfiber, and the day time insert is microfiber topped with fleece.  They are both slightly contoured to cut down on bulk between babies legs.

This diaper is amazing at keeping in poop.  The double gussets in the legs and the elastic in the tummy make for a perfect fit!  We've never once had an issue with a leak in our Buttons diaper.  We also like to use just the Buttons cover with a flat, and love the cover as a stand alone item as well.  Using the second insert at night does make this diaper a little bulky, but the absorbency is super duper.

The Buttons Diapers website itself is very easy to navigate and to purchase with, and full of great information.  Covers and inserts are available for purchase on their website, as well as a small variety of other cloth diapering accessories.

You can buy your own Buttons Diapers at http://www.buttonsdiapers.com , find them on Facebook here, and Twitter here.

I was sent a free product to review in exchange for my honest opinion.  I was not paid nor compensated in any other way.

Introduction to Woven Wrap Reviews

A Heartiness turqouise arrakis woven wrap

In the next few weeks, I'll be starting a new line of reviews.  I'll be reviewing some woven wraps.  Woven wraps are a long piece of cloth used to carry your baby on your body.  Normally, I don't feel the need to write a post introducing you guys to a new type of review.  The reviews themselves usually give enough information.   Woven wraps are a little different.

The most difficult part of writing reviews for woven wraps is that everyone will have a different experience with each wrap.  There are too many factors that change from person to person.  Some wearers will like thick wraps and others will hate them.  Wearers with newborns may find some wraps very supportive, while wearers with toddlers may find the same wraps to be saggy and unsupportive.  Some people will love the ease of cotton, while other people will like hemp or silk or wool better. How someone feels about a certain wrap is often just personal preference.

Even though each person might have a different experience with the same wrap, there is still a lot I can review for you.  I can still tell you what I liked or didn't like about the wrap, how the quality of the wrap is, if the sizes are accurate, if the wrap is thick or thin, how it holds up to rough use, etc.  I can tell you if I found a wrap was diggy on the shoulders in one carry, but easy on them in another.  I can tell you how supportive the wrap was with my baby.  I can still tell you everything I found out about the wrap, and you can then use that information to decide how you might feel about that wrap.

The most important thing to remember when reading reviews for wraps (especially if you are a new babywearer) is that there is no such thing as the 'best' or 'perfect' wrap.  It doesn't exist.  Every wrap is different, and so are the needs of every wearer.  The 'best' wrap to me might not be supportive enough for a mom with a bigger baby, or it might to too warm for a mom who lives in another climate, or it might not fit well with her style of wrapping.  Hopefully my reviews will help you decide what wrap might be right for you.

Little Be Co. Cloth Diaper Review!

The Little Bee Company is a company with a mission.  Their mission is to Bee Changed and to Change the World.  What does that mean?

The Little Bee company is a for-profit organization that is helping babies in need, one diaper at a time.  For every diaper you purchase, a matching diaper is DONATED to a baby in need!

I was sent a Bee Changed Bamboo Pocket OS diaper by the Little Bee Co, free of charge to review for you!  This diaper is a pocket style diaper with a bamboo fleece inner and adjusts to three different rise settings.  There is elastic in both the back of the diaper, and the front.  Front elastic is great for older kids who like to sleep on their tummy, since it helps prevent leaks out of the top of the diaper.  Two micro-fiber inserts are included.  One is your typical straight, rectangular insert. The other is a curved insert.

The care instructions for the inserts and diaper include hang or tumble drying and avoiding fabric softeners and bleach.

The inner of the diaper is shown here next to the curved insert.

The diaper here is fully unsnapped, showing it's length at the largest setting.

The Little Bee Co diaper has crossover tabs for a better fit on small babies.

The inside of the diaper started off amazingly soft and has continued to be pretty soft, even after quite a few washes.  This one my go-to diaper when my daughter has a rash, because the natural fibers are more gentle on sore body parts.

My daughter's diapers seem to fit her better when they have a lower rise, so my 17 month old is wearing her diaper here on he smallest rise setting.  She's right between settings and is almost ready to move up to the middle rise setting.

The one thing I've found with my Little Bee Co diaper is that the tabs don't seem to be long enough for my daughter.  At 17 months old, she's already on the second to last setting!  This might have a little when I move the rise up a setting, but at this point is a little disappointing to think that she might outgrow this diaper so soon.  She wears all of her other OS diapers on the second smallest or middle settings.

Performance wise, my Little Bee Co diaper is working very well.  The inserts are plenty absorbent and the diapers fit well and don't seem to leak.  They also come in a ton of cute prints!

You can buy your own Little Be Co. diaper HERE, and help support babies in need.
